I did my hair last night, took me all of 1/2 hr. Bought 2 packs of $2 braiding hair, one 1B and one 1. Kanekalon,
but the grade is called Afrelle which is apparently softer. It really
is soft. I washed and blow dried my hair and did two ponytails, top and
bottom. I then separated my hair in two and did two two-strand twists. I
put a Goody ouchless elastic in place of
the rubber band that's already on the braiding hair. I then two-strand twisted each side of
the elastic and attached it around my ponytail with the Goody, nice and tight then I
pretty much spiraled the hair and pinned as I went along. A hand mirror
is a necessity. I used bobby pins to fasten the braiding hair to my own
and hair pins within the braiding hair to keep its shape. My sides, I used the Cream of
Nature Argan Edge control then some Eco Styler and tied it down for the night.
Woke up this morning and put some hairspray in it to control the fly
aways. No sheen because I don't want it to look unnatural.
I did a similar style back in August, but it wasn't a
mohawk style, it was sort of an updo look and I used the Marley braiding hair
which is more coarse. The back is just my own hair pulled up. I'm not sure if I have pics of it.
