Day 7

Last night I two-strand twisted without the bantu knots. I usually do the bantu knots because it keeps the twists from unraveling and makes them tighter. End result without the knots, longer looking hair with looser waves. I like it. I twisted with Jane Carter's Moisture Mist and Carol's Daughter's Margeurite's Magic and put on my satin cap to sleep. This morning I undid the twists and pulled up the right side and back with side combs like I did two days ago. I finished by applying Creme of Nature's Perfect Edges, which I realized doesn't work on me. I think it's the Argan Oil, it just prevents me from getting that slick look because it's more oily than "tacky", if  I'm making any sense. I finished by spritzing some Carol's Daughter Tui oil spray. The first 3 pics are on my way to work and the last one was not too long after I got to work. As you can see, it got more poufy. Tonight is wash night, yay!

My lipstick is CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Temptation. It's kind of a copper/burnt orange color. Frost.

Thinning Edges

They say your hair grows while pregnant, then you lose it after you give birth. My edges were definitely MIA when I stopped protective styling in the spring and took a good look. I mean like badly. Since discovering this I started trying different things to help it grow. One is Karen Body Beautiful's hair growth serum. Been using this for about two years and I truly don't know if it works or not, but I love the ingredients. I put it at night and in the morning along with the african hair growth gel. These pics are from around early May and I'm going to keep taking pics and putting them up to see the progress.

Day 5

Got my Carol's Daughter's orders! So I used a bit of Margeurite's Magic to twist. This morning I pulled up the right side and back. Then spritzed with the Tui oil spray. It's so light and smells great. I normally use Shea Moisture's Elixir Spray, but it's heavier and has a stronger fragrance so I think I'll start using that in the colder months. I also got their Goddess Flower souffle and dry oil mist. LOVE!

Avon Nail Art!

How could I forget! I also got these nail art strips similar to Sally Hansen's. I love those and I hope these are comparable. I'll definitely keep you posted!

I tried them and here's the review

Avon Makeup- Campaign 13

Got some Avon stuff. I'm my own best client :/ Got their Ultra Luxury lip liner in Rosebud, Deep Plum and Wild Berry. They go on super smooth. They're not as long as the MAC ones but go on just as nice if not nicer. And a whole lot cheaper! Got a Big Color large eye pencil in Amethyst Dazzle, also super smooth and the color is AMAZING! Will be great for a smokey eye. Lastly, I got an Extra Lasting lipstick in Mauve Ice, it's a frost which I love. Though I'm trying to wear more matte and creamy colors. Totally got a concealer in the wrong color for me. Hard to tell on the computer screen. Oh well.

Day 3

Slowly shrinking and getting more poufy! I twisted with CD's Lisa's Hair Elixir and Karen's Body Beautiful Heavenly Jojoba oils. I don't want to use anything water-based since I blow dried it. As you can see, it's getting more dense as the time passes. Oh, I caved and bought the small jar of CD's Healthy Hair Butter at their store in Brooklyn while I was running errands with my daughter. It has this sort of medicine scent I couldn't pass up! Still waiting on two shipments from them, they had the best sale.

I'm wearing CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipstick in Divine

Blowed Out, Twist Out :)

Bought the Andis blow dryer with a comb because my current Conair doesn't have one and finding a comb to fit it is impossible! I left my Willie Morrow one in Montreal when I moved here because I had locs and now I want it back!

So I'm back on a Carol's Daughter kick, happens every few years. I bought the complete Monoi Collection minus the conditioner only because I'm using the Shea Moisture thickening one. So last night I pre-pooed with Carol's Daughter's Lisa's Hair Elixir mixed with Vatika oil, washed with the Monoi poo, deep conditioned with Curl Junkie's Deep Fix and a dab of Monoi deep treatment and sat under my Huetiful Steamer for one cycle. Washed it out and put some of the Shea Moisture conditioner and only partly washed it out. I put some leave-in treatment from Avon all over and spritzed some SM Thickening Spray. Sectioned my hair in 4 and applied in each section: Monoi Sacred Strengthening Serum, Split End Sealer, that's normal. But to blow dry I also put CD's Chocolat Blow Drying Lotion and the Macadamia Heat Protecting Serum. I blow dried each section in 3 parts and two-strand twisted with a bantu knot. I later went back and made each twist smaller. The pics are the end result after I ran my fingers through each twist and tousled with my afro pick. With a little shrinkage after being out in the sun. I love it!

My lipstick is CoverGirl Lip Perfection, I'll come back with the color after, begins with an "E", lol ;) Enchantress, that's it.
